The kids were all extrodinary in their roles.
And that is the only redeeming factor of this terrible adaptation of Stephen King's classic novel.
Every other aspect from this movie, from the writing, editing, directing, you name it, is unforgivably flawed. I wish I could say I was simply "let down" but this is seriously one of the worst films I have ever seen.
Without the aid of the original miniseries, and/or the novel, there is no reason to care about any of these characters, and no way to even understand what the film is even about. There's virtually no story to any part of this move.
And the CGI, seriously. Wow. I can generally look past obvious CGI effects in other films. But this isn't your normal "obvious CGI" this is really really really BAD "obvious CGI.
Aside from the parts in the preview, there is not one scene of pennywise that isn't laughably executed. From the first encounter with Georgie, to the ridiculous dances, to the awful ending. This film has ruined an iconic horror movie antagonist, and the worst part about it, is that they're going to make another one.
I'm not sure exactly what went wrong, or where they went wrong, because every single aspect (aside from the acting of the main 7) is just wrong.
To say I'm disappointed would be a vast understatement.
The PR team however, deserves commending for keeping the rating well above what it deserves. Forget horror movie, this is just a bad bad bad bad bad movie.
Save your money, safe your time, save yourself from enduring this forgettable train wreck of a film.
